Lights Out on Earth Day - April 22, 2008 - 8pm - 9pm
Reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions! Prevent Global Warming! Tell Scranton to SAVE TAXPAYERS MONEY! Sierra Club's Cool Cities Campaign is a grass roots plan to encourage our Mayor to audit the city's use of energy without reducing services and safety.
Turn off your lights and non-essential electric things between 8 PM and 9 PM on Earth Day, April 28, 2008. For more information about this event and other things you can do to help Scranton become a Cool City visit our Web site
The NEPA chapter of the Sierra Club is looking to make the "electric city" a green electric city by having Scranton join hundreds of other cities across the country that have identified themselves as "cool cities," and pledge to reduce the city's CO2 emissions. Every fluorescent light bulb saves 150 pounds of CO2 emissions a year. So celebrate being green every day of the year and together we can reduce our city and state's emissions.
