COAL COUNTRY – A New Film from Sierra Club Productions October 21st and October 29th SPG offers two advance screenings (see below for dates and times) of Coal Country, a new full-length feature film profiling Appalachia's coal industry, which will appear later this year on the Discovery Channel. Underwritten by Sierra Club Productions, this compelling film takes us inside the modern coal mining industry to meet miners, mining company officials, coalfield community residents and activists. See the devastation and pollution from the mountaintop removal mining that is tearing the region apart. Meet producer Mari-Lynn Evans and director Phyllis Geller. Join us for Coal Country on the big screen!
Wednesday October 21, 7 p.m. COLONIAL THEATER Bridge Street, Phoenixville PA
Richard Whiteford will MC the event, opening with a brief slide show about coal and global warming. Producer Mari-Lynn Evans and Writer Phyllis Geller will then introduce Coal Country.
